Alanis Morissette has always been one of the most distinct and fiercely independent voices in contemporary music. And nowhere is this more evident than in his latest single, 'I remain, "out of the next' Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time soundtrack.From the opening track, however, it becomes instantly clear that this is definitely not the Alanis Alanis older sister once knew.
After a stirring opening of the Middle East, Morissette infuses the track with his voice soft as silk, while stopped for a drum beat drives the song forward. As the singer slips easily in and out of falsetto range, everything comes to a crescendo transcendental exhilirating providing adequate backdrop for what promises to be a thrilling success.
Morissette contribution to the 'Prince of Persia soundtrack' also marks the reunion with one's co-writer Mike Elizondo, who collaborated on the soundtrack of 'The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. "This time, Morissette said his environment with Elizondo was so organic," the song was written.
